Donovan is a young man born to a well off merchant family. He grew up with a good standard of living and was well educated formally along with other children of similar backgrounds, though after finishing a normal education his parents sent him off to a magical center for education for more specialized studies. His parents had hoped he would one day become a decent enough wizard that they could get him a job with their connections to a powerful magic faction as an advisor or scholar. Donovan poured himself into his studies, and used his skill in talking to people from learning mercantilism from his parents to trade favors to help him along.

Thazel Longhorn IV grew up in fight pits over in a tribe called Red As Earth in a forest. Coming from a long line of Longhorns, he had grown distant with his family not wanting to raid towns. Growing distant to his family he outcasted himself to the knowledge of books that he had stole from a wizard in a raid. Soon after he heard whispers of a brother "Thazel V". He started learning arcane when a traveler found him in a cave practicing magic and told him about a school from here. Thazel didn't trust the man and decided to stay. He grew stronger with arcane and more of an outcast from his tribe when 30 years later another traveler, Donavan a new student to the school found him in the woods. Once again reminding him of the school the previous traveler had mentioned. Thazel decided to join him leaving a note for his family saying he would return, proving that strength is in the mind as well in the body. Donavan and Thazel became roommates at the school helping each other with schoolwork.

Fern is a tall, heavily clothed, firbolg that is constantly wearing a pale birch mask with 5 eyeholes and feathered carvings. The mask is a religious symbol for the patron fey of his hometown. He is very neat and focused on hygiene, getting unhappy at grime on himself or his work environments. His go-to focus is his wand of fear, which he has been carving small Giant runes into to help with any issues with its magic.
